    Is 2-way ANOVA appropriate?

You can use a 2-way ANOVA but notice that it is a repeated measures ANOVA. That is, you have one in-between groups variable (Treatment) and one within groups variable. You also should notice that since you will want to use an alpha correction, it is best you have a large sample.

Is there a test that can be used to compare these?!?

If I understand correcly, you have 4 means for each element, but not the values themselves. If you have the number of of modalities used to calculate these means, AND the standard deivation, then yes. You can use an ANOVA.

How do you perform statistical analysis on a multiple response variable on SPSS Statistics?

You can turn the variable into several dummy variables. But be careful with the analyses since the new variables will not be mutually exclusive.

    ANCOVA with moderators

Not exactly. A moderation effect might be found if you test the three 3-way interactions.

    ANCOVA with moderators

You will have 3 dummy variables and 2 moderators. That is 6 2-way interactions. However, to truly understand the relationship between the variables you will have to also calculate another 3 3-way interactions. 9 in total (not 15, which for some reason seemed logical to me as I wrote my previous...

Karabiner, did you notice that the dependent variable seems to be a count variable? I am not sure ANOVA is appropriate here.

    One-tailed OR two-tailed

I would check the literature in your field and see what is usually done there.

    ANCOVA with moderators

If you don't include the interaction variables you won't be able to test for moderation. So, if you don't want to use moderating varaibles as covariates (which to be honest, I am not sure if you should do or not), I can think of 2 options.: 1. Use a regression analysis. Problem is, you will have...

    Possible statistical analysis confusion?

ANOVA with 2 groups is essentially the same thing as t-test. So you can choose either one. However, I never saw anyone actually use ANOVA with only 2 groups. So go with t-test.

Not sure what test to use- HELP

yashrampersad, why did you think about a paired sample test? What is the prominent feature of such a test?

    Dummy Variable Help

I assume you only tried to create dummy variables from the time period variable (as there is no apparent reason to create them from the year variable). Seems ok to me.

    Help with Combining Variables

Ok, so this is your problem. To choose multiple options you should seperate the conditions and use the "|" sign in your syntax. For example, (country_language = Sweden_Finnish) | (country_language = Sweden_English).

    Help with Combining Variables

Try using the "Select cases" option in the "Data" menu.

    Test choice

Either that or a chi-square test.
