ANCOVA Table - Interpretation


I don't know if there is any post already regarding this and, if there is, I am sorry for reposting.

I was asked to explain a table from an ANCOVA , specifically the values of F, etc. The table in question is Table 1.

Can anyone help?



The F value isn't a particularly informative number at an intuitive level. The p value is more helpful.
One comment - Table 1 has 45 p values, so you have a problem with false positives. This means that the authors need to redefine their significance levels. A common approach is Bonferroni which says reduce the critical value to 0.05/45 which is about 0.001, so you run a real risk of making a false claim for significance for any but those with ***. These are only Temperature.
