Appropriate statistical analysis

I am attempting to see if there is a relationship between an IV (which is ordinal ranked -ranging from 1-9) and multiple DVs which are which are also ordinal. What would be the most appropriate analysis to run? I was thinking Kruskal Wallis H test but now I'm second guessing myself. I know if I'm looking for causal analysis I need to consider regression. My sample size is just over 400. Any recommendations greatly appreciated!

For bivariate relationships between ordinal scaled variables, you can use the Spearman rank correlation.
I don't know what you mean by causal analysis.

Thank you! Interestingly enough I’m working on the 3rd of 3 RQ related to my research and used Spearman rank correlation in my first 2 which were similar to this question. A colleague recommended the Kruskal Wallis and I am just insecure enough to second guess myself.
