Arcsin transform

Hello,

I came across 2 different formulas for arcsin transformation of proportions (0-1) in excel:
1. =ASIN(SQRT(appropriate cell))
2. =ASIN(SQRT(appropriate cell/100))*180/PI()

What is the difference between the two?
Which one is to be used for proportions (0-1) when applying parametric statistics?

One uses radians and the other uses degrees?

Yeah. There are only two differences really.

Appropriate cell/100 <- this should be used if the original data are actually numbers from 0-100 to convert them to 0-1.

The 180/PI() <- Probably to convert from radians to degrees... but really it's just a multiplicative constant so it doesn't really matter. I don't really see why this would be necessary in the first place though.
