Compounding Annual Growth

I'm working on a project for work involving data for the entire year of 2006. The data is currently broken out by monthly totals and the month/month % increase is calculated. I was asked to use Excel to calculate the CAGR (Compounding Annual Growth Rate) using the XIRR function. I am having no luck figuring this out.

The data I'm using is not financial, it's not surrounding money or investments, which was what the XIRR function is for in Excel (I think). The data is total # of reports produced by month for 2006. I need to figure out the Compounding Annual Growth Rate of the data set.

Any ideas or guidance is appreciated, I'm getting a headache trying figure this out.

Thanks in advance.
