Correlation between groups

Hie,

I would like to run correlation between my dependent (behaviors) and independent (stressors) variables. I have 10 variables for Behavior, and 15 variables for Stressor. For each of the 10 Behaviors, i have 6 subgroups in. Instead of running individual correlation (eg Stressor1 with Behavior1_subgroup1), i would like to run the correlation using the mean for the 15 stressors and the mean for the 10 Behavior.

Does this make sense? If so, how can i get the single mean for the independent and dependent variable in SPSS?

Thanks.

There's probably a menu item that allows you to run some sort of basic descriptive stats on your variables - you'll get the means that way.

Hie John,

I have tried finding the mean from the descriptive menu, but this will only calculate and display individual means, but not as a single mean. Probably i need to do it manually?

If you can't get SPSS to do what you need, you can always copy/paste it into Excel and compute the means that way.
