Deleting Variables with Missing Data in SPSS

The fastest way is in the Data View tab, right click on the column and choose Sort Descending. If the top entry is a . then that should mean there is no data for that variable. To confirm, right click again and this time choose Sort Ascending. If the top entry is still a . then there should be no data at all for that option. If you're really sure, then right click the column and choose Clear.
