Group differences in continuous heart rate data

#1
Hi everyone,

1) The purpose of my study is to examine group differences (experimental vs. control) in continuous heart rate data (BPM).
2) The IV is categorical. The DV is the tricky variable because is measured using TomTom wrist tracker.

Any ideas on analyzing such data?

What are your hypotheses? Or, to put it another way, what specifically are you predicting the effect of the IV will be?

In addition: How large will your samples sizes be? How is the experiment / data collection designed (e.g. only 1 interval of x minutes? several intervals over several days? are there base rate measurements, i.e. before the experimentaöl manipulation?). What does the experimental manipulation consist of? What do you mean precisely by "The DV is the tricky variable because is measured using TomTom wrist tracker."?

With kind regards
