I am the brownie leader (who could have guessed!) for my first grade daughter's troop. I want to try to incorporate different math concepts into earning the badges - as much as I can. I think that if children (girls especially) are exposed to correct terminology and basic ideas early on then they won't find math so intimidating later. I have been unable to find a basic stats book on how to present such material to this age group. These girls can do basic addition subtraction and I found out that they understand what percent means. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated! My theme for statistics is using and interpreting data - I also would like some ideas on basic terminology to introduce first.
