Hi, applied mathematician here.

#1
Hello, I have a recent Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. I use plenty of statistics, mostly Monte-Carlo methods and other computational methods. I'm getting into the field of Operations Research, mainly in developing and optimizing models. I hope that I can help out here and get some questions answered.

For one... is there a way for the forum accept latex code?

For example,

Code:
\[ P(A|B) = \frac{P(B|A)P(A)}{P(B)} .\]
EDIT: I think I've figured it out:

\( P(A|B) = \frac{P(B|A)P(A)}{P(B)} \)

Looks like you figured it out.

[noparse]\(\mbox{Math: } 2+2 = 2^2\)[/noparse]
gives
\(\mbox{Math: } 2+2 = 2^2\)

There are also [noparse][TEX] ... [/TEX][/noparse] tags but those aren't quite as reliable and I wouldn't suggest using them.

Glad to have you here!
