maximum values in ANOVA

hello everyone, I am a novice in statistics, I would like to ask you something, here's the problem:

- I have done an experiment with several users.
- The experiment was based on specific tasks with the use of a software application.
- The parameter used for this experiment was the number of pages visited for each user before achieving the specific task.
- What I have done is to put a maximum cap value of 8 pages visited. If the user visited 8 or more pages, the number of pages visited were counted as 8. The values were then used for an ANOVA comparison.

I am asking you if the use of maximum values (or cap values) is correct or if it can be explained somehow from a statistical perspective, if it may not be "completely appropriate".

many thanks for the help in advance
