As part of my final year Bsc degree I am writing a research proposal.
HOWEVER I am struggling to wrap my head round which statistical test would best suit my data.
The Research is an RCT with an intervention and a control group (2 groups). I would like to compare the incidence rate of Post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) between the two groups. PPH either occurs or does no occur, is this binary data? ??
I understand this to be a Parallel Group Study

My Null hypothesis is that the intervention will not reduce the incidence rate of PPH when compared to the control group
Alternate hypothesis is that the intervention will reduce the incidence rate of PPH when compared to the control group
How would i go about this? My current thinking is a Two Sample t Test with unequal variances and to use Intention-to-treat analysis also.
Thank You to anyone who can help me
