Regression or?

#1
Hello Guys,

I have a scenario for my project. It would be great, if you did help me:

A psychologist wanted to examine whether social engagement and extroversion explain empathy. She was primarily interested in how much unique variance in empathy could be explained by extroversion, controlling for social engagement.

Which analysis do you prefer and why? And what is uniqu variance? R square or?

Thanks from now. I hope someone hear me:)

Given that linear regression assumptions hold, you would likely be looking at omega or epsilon square (a value for partial R square) and its respective 95% confidence interval.
