Sign Test

#1
Hi everyone,

I was stuck on this homework question and it’s on sign test.

Question: Ten students selected randomly were questioned whether they consumed more or less alcohol after passing out of college. Their answers were: more, less, more, less, less, less, less, more, less and less.

I need to conduct a sign test to see if this provides evidence of a change in drinking habits from the wider population.

How would I go about approaching this question? I haven’t been provided with a data set.

H= could be:
The propoportion of those who drink less = the proportion of those who drink more.

This could be done for example using a one-sample Chi² test.

With kind regards
