Hello,

I have to standardize the values in rows. Which statistical test
or method I have to use? Please explain it to me.

Here is the data which i need to standardize.

3 9 4
3 8 6
3 1 0
0 0 2
2 0 0
0 2 1
0 2 0
0 0 2
5 6 4
6 7 7
2 0 0

Regards

standard score (aka z scores)

Here's a presentation I put together on it for qualitative classmates. it has the math, examples, and how to do it in excel.

It says for text data but it's just frequency counts. it's all the same.

Thanks for your help. Please tell what does -2 and 2 means in tutorial? will it be same in my case too?

Standard deviations. Yes this will be the same in your case.

It's the case anytime you have a normal curve. A great deal of hypothesis testing is built on this concept.

I have done it. Now I want to do chi square for each standardized row. but it doesn't work on negative standardized value. Would it be wrong if I take negative values as positive and take out the chi square.

If you transform data to use in logs it is common to add a constant to every value to make them greater than 0. But I dont know if that will change the chi square value. I doubt it because adding a constant does not change variability.
