University of Toronto statistics program

#1
Hi, I'm currently a first-year mathematics specialist at the University of Toronto and I've recently discovered statistics. If I wanted to study the statistical theory, would the University of Toronto a good school? or should I think about transferring somewhere else as an option?
thank you

Waterloo university is probably better for you to do your master's in since it is more well known with its math and computer programs. It is the only university Bachelor of Math degree in Canada. Plus every year it hosts the high school math exams (Euclid, Pascal etc). At my last job in the government, a girl did her Master of Statistics at UofT, she couldn't do the math calculations right

I'm currently doing my M.Sc in Statistics at UofT St. George Campus. Your choice of school will ultimately depend on what specific research topics you find interesting. You can take a scan of some profiles and active areas, but off the top of my head I know Statistical Genetics and Bayesian Statistics are huge here.

Hi, I was wondering if you (jamesmartinn) wouldn't mind sharing your Uoft Msc Statistics experience since I'm considering applying for the program.
Some background: I have an MA economics I've been working working for a few years in the field as an analyst and I'm looking to revamp my statistics/modeling skills (they're rusty). My interest is in applied statistics and the kind of tools I'd be using in the private sector to conduct more complex business analysis (better modeling and forecasting).

Based on your experience, do you think the u of t Msc Statistics program would be a good match for what I'm looking for? I noticed on this thread someone else mentioned Waterloo, do you have any knowledge of their program: (MMath) statistics?

Thanks for your time and advice.
