# What test to run?

HI everyone,

I am very confused as to what test to run, these are my variables:

Hypothesis 1:
IV: Frame type (categorical with 2 conditions: gain vs loss frame)
DV: Attitude towards behaviour (continuous)

Hypothesis 2:
IV: Frame type (categorical with 2 conditions: gain vs loss frame)
DV: Behavioural Intention (continuous)

Hypothesis 3:
IV: Frame type (categorical with 2 conditions: gain vs loss frame)
DV: Behavioural Intention (continuous)
Moderator: Perceived Risk (continuous)

I thought for H1 & H2 I can run a Independent Samples t-tets but for the last one I have no clue... Please help!!

What exactely do you want to find out in part 3? And how large is your sample size?
And what do you mean by continuous, is it measured on aN interval scale?

With kind regards

Thank you for your response. I want to find out if percieved risk moderates the effect between the IV and the DV, my sample size is 120 and the moderator is a scale variable measured with 3 items from 1-5 (strongly disagree-strongly agree)

So you can use linear regression with
DV = constant + b1*IV + b2*moderator + b3*(DV*moderator) + error
The interaction term DV*moderator represents the moderating effect.
