which hypothesis test to use

I have the mouse growth data as shown below.

There are two cages.
Cage-1 has 'type-A' mouse and Cage-2 has 'Type-B' mouse.
Each cage has 4 mouses.
Every week each mouse weight and total food consumption per cage are recorded.

I want to do the hypothesis testing and find which type of mouse (A or B) has higher weight growth.

What hypothesis test is suitable for this problem?

What exactely do you mean by weight growth? Weight difference between baseline and last measurement?

This test is about obesity. Type-A mouse is genetically modified and its weight gain is less compared to Type-B mouse.
By seeing the weight at any instant, it is simple to tell type-A mouse has lesser weight than type-B.
but we need to prove this concept using statistic model and hypothesis testing.

Frankly, I dont understand how to proceed further. I think the mean weight of type-A and type-B has to be compared. Pl. correct me if I am wrong.

A simple approach would be to calculate the weight difference between first and last measurement for each mouse, and to compare these values between cages using Mann-Whitney U-test. But I am not sure if there is any chance to observe a result with p < 0.05 with the U-Test based on only 8 observations.
