    Quantitative, inductive survey analysis?

you could use the pearson correlation, invented by the great eugenicist, and sometimes statistician karl pearson.

sorry I meant no 'r' in medians sorry for the miscomunication.

    Interpretation R-square in path analysis

r squared is best when it is close to 1. Remember "close to one, time for fun; close to zero, Robert deniro"

    Stats Basterds

oh fine. have it your way. So we'll add everyone born before 1972 to the stats bastards list, on suspicion of racist associations or existing in a general millieu of racism. So far the list: Stats Basterds: 1) The alleged peter-peeper at Tufts. 2) Statisticians born before 1972 3) Spunky...

    Stats Basterds

eugenics is not really that bad. they studied eugenics for the same reason I study covid, research funding. Statisticians will do anything for a little research funding, nothing has changed in that respect. RA fisher is disagreeable, but thats also par for the course. Im thinking more like...

i was listening to podcast 'behind the bastards' got to thinking if there are any statisticians who were known bastards but contributed alot to stats theory. I mean reeeeeeeeeeeeal bastards, though, not just through modern eyes.

Can random effect only model positive correlations?

same way, but exclude one of the categories: 2______3545.666______0.29__________________novel male 2______8570.965______0.71__________________previous partner the estimate for the excluded category is jest 1 - the other one, ain't it. see its technically a negative correlation between these...

Can random effect only model positive correlations?

i think the issue is that you can't have a linear dependance amongst the three outcomes, in this case proportion of time. same as a chi-square only has p-1 degrees of freedom.

    Determining stats based on "activity"

has the ring of 'catch effort' estimation. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1572312706000189#:~:text=In%20particular%2C%20in%20the%20catch,fixed%20number%20of%20repeated%20surveys. except the 'catch' is observing the bird and effort is time spent observing. or that has...
