Comparing two means to One

I have a study with 3 groups (depression, anxiety, controls) who were given 3 interview conditions (sad memory, happy memory, anxious memory). The DV is a linguistic variable (e.g., number of verbs used).

To analyze main effects and interactions (group*memory condition), I have been using Repeated measures ANOVA.

My question is as follows: How can I compare 2 conditions (Anxious & Sad) to the third (Happy). Basically, I'd like to collapse the Anxious and Sad conditions into a Negative Memory condition. Is there a way to do this without creating a new variable?
