Help with SPSS methond, asap please

#1
Hi there, apologies for posting this and needing help as soon as possible.

I'll spare the story of why I need this as soon as possible but thank anyone who can help me in advance.

I'm required to select the correct test to analyse these data sets, running the test using SPSS and present the results in APA format. If anyone can make sense of this and let me know how I could use SPSS to deal with this I would be genuinely in your debt. Thanks in advance.

The following pages describe 2 studies that look at individual differences in vocational personality. To measure vocational personality John Holland’s RIASEC model has been used. This model consists of 6 different vocational types arranged in a hexagonal formation. Vocational personality is measured using a questionnaire called the ‘Self directed search’. The 6 vocational types along with the personality characteristics and occupations associated with them can be found in box 1.

Box 1 – Vocational Types

Type Personality Occupations

Realistic Shy, Stable, Practical Mechanic, Farmer, Assembly Line worker

Investigative Analytical, Independent Biologist, Economist, Mathematician

Social Sociable, Cooperative Social Worker, Teacher, Counsellor

Conventional Practical, Efficient Accountant, Manager, Bank Teller

Enterprising Ambitious, Energetic Lawyer, Salesperson

Artistic Imaginative, Idealistic Painter, Writer, Musician

H1: Extraverts will score higher than introverts on the enterprising vocational personality scale in the self directed search.

Method

Participants from a wide range employers were sent a link to an online version of the self directed search. The questionnaire contained 5 questions that assess the Social vocational type. Participants had to rate each question on a scale from 1-6 where 1 was strongly disagree and 6 was strongly agree.

Study 2: Vocational personality, congruence and job satisfaction

The main assumption underlying Holland’s RIASEC model is that certain vocational types will be better suited to certain occupations. For example if a person scores highly on the enterprising vocational type they are likely to be ambitious and energetic and suited for occupations such as sales or law.

Method

The individuals’ who scored highest on the enterprising vocational type were then asked to complete a measure of job satisfaction. The job satisfaction measure consisted of 5 questions which were rated on a scale from 1-6 where 1 was strongly disagree and 6 was strongly agree.

1.
Enter the data into SPSS so the scores are in one column and the introvert/extrovert status is in another column (enter as 0 and 1).
I would either do a one-Way ANOVA or an independent samples T-Test (under Analyze --> compare means).
Your dependent variable will be test score.

2.
As above enter the data so scores are in a column and job type (entered as 0, 1, 2) in another.
Run a one-way ANOVA where the DV is the test score.
