How to compute this variable in SPSS?

#1
I want to compute 'status inconsistency' by having all respondents together with a higher degree + a job that doesnt require a higher degree.

The variables:
1. JOB (yes(1) or no(2)): does your job require a higher education?
2. EDUC: Your highest education achievend

So I gotta have JOB as 2
And EDUC basically below 4 (its scored 1-5 and above 3 is higher education)

So I went to compute, named variable and did this:

((JOB =2) & (EDUC < 4 & > 0))

Apparantly this doesnt work... how do I do this?

I tried it using "IF" as well

Just for the sake of anyone else wondering:

COMPUTE STATUS = 0 .
IF (JOB = 2 & EDUC > 3) STATUS = 1 .
EXECUTE .

VALUE LABELS STATUS
0 'Consistent'
1 'Not consistent'.
