I have read a lot of regression books that introduce the method, talk about assumptions etc. But I want to develop more advanced skills now. If it matters this is not about theory. I work in a social science organization and want to give advice based on the data. For example, what are key drivers of wages. Which as it turns out might not be doable by regression :p

That is specifically the type of more advanced skills I need. To tell what is possible and what is not, which of the many forms of regression to use and so on. I have read a lot of articles, but they don't give the type of details I need.

Frank Harrel's Regression Model Strategies is consider the Bible. I bought a newer copy for $10 on Springer last year when they had a deal. He may have a newer version in the works, not sure.

He includes R code in it.
