Interpreting unstandardized coefficients and their strength

I conducted a multiple regression analysis with 2 independent variables. Now I'm trying to analyze the strength of these variables between men and women. But I'm only looking at the unstandardized coefficients, not the standardized ones. So for the first variable I got a B value of -.900 for women and -.500 for men. So, is the predicted variable stronger in men or in women? I'm having issues interpreting this because of the minus sign, so I don't know if -.500 is supposed to be the stronger predictor because it's closer to 0? Keep in mind, these are unstandardized coefficients. Please help!!
