Hi There

I'm conducting a survey and using likert scale 5 value. What shoud we do if most answer is at 3 (neutral or not decided!!). Does it effect the analysis result?

How do we analyse data like this.
What I do at the moment is calculate the mean, median and stdev.
and make a frequency table and plot a bar graf.

Please help
Thanks

Report proportions

Not much can be done now i am afraid. You can simple report the proportions of the various responses. these type of issues are ideally tackled not at the end of the study but through a small pretest.

There could be numerous reasons as to why people have reported as "undecided" and trying to find an explanantion for the high proportions of "undecided"responses could prove to be difficult. But still you can give it a try bu using qualitative techniques, if feasible.

Hi

How do I report those proportion?

What do you mean by qualitative technique? You mean conduct further interview etc?
