linear regression and repeated measures ANOVA

I am trying to determine the best way to analyze some repeated measures. The scores are numerical activity scores ( such as 0.005678, 0.0075689 etc) recorded every few seconds over a period of 4 hours in the interventional arm of my study. So only analyzing within participant and within group. Someone suggested that I look at using a repeated measures ANOVA but this only makes sense to me if I am grouping the results say in to hour one versus hour 4. Also can I do this as a single participant analysis as well as a group analysis of the means per hour as a combined result of all participants? Should I not also consider a linear regression for analysis of the trend over time of the scores? To me it is more important to see if there is a trend in scores from time of initial exposure through to the end of the intervention (continually exposed for 4 hours)
