# Logistic Regression basic Ques

Sorry if too basic. I am a self-educated novice in this area:

In most Logistic regression examples in 101 kinda text books, I see that Probability of the dependent variable being 1 increases with the increase in the value of the independent variable e.g. Heart Attack and age.

If this relation does not hold good (e.g. flu and age, where Probability of flu increases in the young and the elderly and decreases in the mid-aged)

Can i still use logistic regression with age as a continous IV rather than categorizing age into into 'young', 'mid' and 'old'?

Thanks
