Hi all. Recent lurker. 1st post. Thank you in advance.
Out of curiosity, I've been wondering about the rendering of the forum's math tags as gifs. For example, when the whitespace is removed, this snippet
is rendered as this gif:
\(x^2\)
What are the mechanics? I've googled the general issue of rendering math in browsers. From there, but to no avail, I searched the talkstats.com using the terms MathML and MathJax.
