SPSS Mixed Models - Repeated factorial design

#1
Hi all,

I am having a lot of trouble finding any instructions or help with my analysis and was hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

My experiment involves making a verbal rating at the end of each trial of a visual stimulus. There are two properties of the visual stimulus I am manipulating - flow and direction (each has two levels). Therefore there are four combinations/conditions. Each person views and responds to all four, then has a break and repeats this procedure four times.

So I have 2 (flow) x 2 (direction) x 4 (session). I cant use repeated measures anova because of missing values and wish to use mixed models instead.

My question is: do I put all three factors (flow, direction, and session) in the repeated box of the mixed models? I have included a picture below.

If I only put session in the box, I get the following error message: "The levels of the repeated effect are not different for each observation within a repeated subject."

Cheers,

Alex
