What Is The Appropriate Statistical Application For My Experiment!!!

#1
HELLO,

 OKAY SO HERE WE GO!!!

I HAVE APPROXIMATELY TEN SAMPLES FROM ONE GROUP, 15 SAMPLES FOM A SECOND GROUP, AND THIRTY-FOUR SAMPLES FROM ANOTHER GROUP.

I HAVE USED qRT-PCR TO OBSERVE THE EXPRESSION OF TWO GENES IN EACH OF THESE SAMPLES USING EITHER HUPO OR B-ACTIN AS MY INTERNAL CONTROL.

I NEED TO KNOW HOW I SHOULD ANALYZE THIS DATA. SHOULD I USE THE SPEARMANS RANK, SPEARMANS, OR PEARSONS. I THINK I SHOULD USE PEARSONS BECAUSE I SIMPLY WANT TO KNOW WHETHER THERE IS A LINEAR CORRELATION IN THE EXPRESSION OF MY TWO GENES AND I DO NOT FEEL AS THOUGH I NEED TO RANK THEM IN ORDER TO DO SO.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT!!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE,

AMY

Perhaps you should post a bit more information (and switch off the caps!).

In regards to whether you choose pearsons or spearmans, a spearmans is typically used when your data is not normal or from a continuous scale. The ranking of data shouldn't matter. It essentially does the same thing as a pearsons but treats the data as ordinal rather than continuous and is generally more robust to violations of normality.
